London pulls rank: Condo in 23 spaces, the Fair in Islington, the Barbican's Curve.
The calendar restarts here. Condo London opens 17 January with 50 galleries crammed into 23 spaces, and the London Art Fair follows it at the Business Design Centre four days later. Paris answers more quietly: Perrotin Marais, Jeu de Paume at the end of the month. Venice is still a rumour. Berlin is cold.

The ninth edition. Host galleries give up their walls and handle the logistics; foreign galleries send the works. The preview weekend runs Saturday and Sunday 12 to 6. Galleries thin on the ground south of the river this year, which concentrates the walk around Fitzrovia and Mayfair. Format still works.

— Condo previews the same Saturday as Burns Night. Which means Mayfair galleries serving haggis on shortbread and the Fitzrovia galleries handing out bags of mini-haggis as door gifts. Two dealers admitted this was a mistake; one doubled down and brought a piper.
