What to Expect From the Kunsthalle's Spring Program

A cautious enthusiasm

There's a version of the spring program announcement that would have gotten more press: the one with bigger names, louder gestures, and a photo op at the opening. The Kunsthalle did not write that announcement.

Instead there are three shows, each of them quiet on paper, each of them a bet on an artist whose work hasn't been given the room it needs before now. It's the kind of program you write when you trust your audience to follow you somewhere unobvious.

We're particularly looking forward to the late-career drawings show opening in May.
